Rock your world
I don’t know about you, but sometimes I get stuck in a rut. Work, home, TV, bed. Sometimes the daily grind of life and work doesn’t seem to leave a lot of room for anything else mid-week. And on weekends I’m so busy running errands and catching up with friends, I forget to "go" places and "see" things.
Last night my husband Alan and I caught the preview show of the Michael Jackson show THRILLER Live, now on at Marina Bay Sands until May 15. And we realised it was high time we got up off the sofa and out and about a little more often!
The show itself is a must-see for Michael Jackson fans and will certainly entertain and have you on your feet no matter how little or much you appreciate the King of Pop. The international cast is very impressive - particularly the English boy who plays the young MJ, lead female vocalist and the "white" version of MJ himself - if you close your eyes, you’ll swear he was in the room. The fun costumes, dance moves and slick production are a plus. There are also a few things I like about Marina Bay Sands as a venue - various access points, getting a drink or snack at intermission is super-easy and parking and entry is a breeze. We were home (Upper Thomson) within 17 minutes, I couldn’t believe it.
With artists such as Avril Lavigne, Kenny Loggins, guitarist Joe Bonamassa, Air Supply and - yes, KYLIE MINOGUE heading our way in May and June, there’s a host of great live entertainment happening in the Lion City. If theatre musicals are more your style, you must check out the rock ‘n’ roll sensation buddy vs the killer, presented by British Theatre Playhouse. This battle of the hits of Buddy Holly and Jerry Lee Lewis is on from May 4 to 8. And of course let’s not forget The Lion King, whose season has now been extended to July 31.
So get off the couch and on your feet!
